Tony Awards Video: Daniel Radcliffe on Winning His First Major Acting Award for Merrily We Roll Along

The Harry Potter star reacts to his 2024 Tony for Best Featured Actor in a Musical.

Beloved screen star and Broadway favorite Daniel Radcliffe won the 2024 Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his work as Charlie Kringas in the Broadway revival of Merrily We Roll Along. Radcliffe's acting chops and patter song acrobatics in the Maria Friedman-directed musical, which features music by the late Stephen Sondheim and a book by George Furth, ended up earning him the lauded honor.

“The love of musical theatre, and the history of it, and Sondheim, and all of it is really instilled in me from [my mom and dad], and has been something I’ve been raised with my whole life,” says Radcliffe. “So I always thought I would do musicals… [but] I never thought it would do something like this.”

See everything Radcliffe had to say after winning the Tony in the video above, in an interview with Playbill's Jeffrey Vizcaíno! Notably, this is his first major acting award. Is an Oscar, an Emmy, a Golden Globe, or an Olivier next? We shall see!
