Vanessa Williams: "Silver & Gold" Live at the Palace will play the famed Broadway theatre through Dec. 4. Show time is 8 PM. Richard Shenkman directs the former Miss America's Palace engagement. Produced by Michael Gruber, the evenings feature musical direction by Rob Mathes.
The concerts celebrate Williams' seventh studio recording, "Silver & Gold," a collection of holiday material, both new and classic. The CD is available on the Lava Records label.
About her stint at the Palace, actress Williams recently said in a statement, "Of all the opportunities and experiences I’ve been fortunate enough to have in my career, I’ve always felt most at home on stage. It will always be my first love and, as a native New Yorker, any time I can return to Broadway is another dream come true. This show will be special, because it not only includes the hits people know and love, but I get to kick off my favorite time of the year with some of the most beautiful holiday songs ever written."
A Tony Award nominee for her role in Into the Woods, Williams has also appeared on Broadway in Kiss of the Spider Woman and in the City Center Encores! production of St. Louis Woman. Williams' screen credits include roles in "Soul Food," "Eraser," "Dance with Me" and "Shaft."
