Two new musicals will debut this summer at the DR2 Theatre Off-Broadway, where they will play in repertory: Neurosis, a musical comedy about finding happiness and falling in love while dealing with that little voice inside your head; and R.R.R.E.D., about a secret redheaded revolutionary organization that fights back against the extinction of redheads in the year 2100.
Neurosis features a book by Allan Rice, music by Ben Green, and lyrics by Greg Edwards. Andy Sandberg (Straight, Application Pending) will direct the New York premiere, with choreography by Shea Sullivan (Pageant). Performances will begin July 25 ahead of an August 17 opening.
R.R.R.E.D. features music and lyrics by Katie Thompson and a book by Adam Jackman, Thompson, and Patrick Livingston. Sandberg will also direct, with choreography by Sullivan. Performances will begin July 28 ahead of an August 19 opening.
Thompson and Matt Loehr (The Sting) will star, with additional casting to be announced, including a rotating celebrity guest cameo.
