With the modern film adaptation of Romeo + Juliet still fresh in people's minds, yet another freewheeling adaptation of William Shakespeare's romantic tragedy will come to movie screens. Opening Feb. 14, Valentine's Day, in New York will be Tromeo & Juliet, released by Troma Inc., the proudly low-budget film company of Toxic Avenger , Class Of Nuke `Em High and Surf Nazis Must Die fame. The New York Post quotes director/co-writer Lloyd Kaufman (with James Gunn) as saying that his Tromeo & Juliet will feature "all the body piercing, kinky sex and car crashes that Shakespeare always wanted and never had."
