T.R. Knight Joins New Stephen King TV Series with James Franco | Playbill

News T.R. Knight Joins New Stephen King TV Series with James Franco Drama Desk nominee T.R. Knight, currently playing in the Broadway production of It's Only a Play, has joined the cast of the Hulu event series "11/22/63," according to Deadline. Knight joins James Franco, who will play the lead in the nine-hour adaptation of Stephen King's best-selling novel of the same name.

In the mini-series, Franco plays a divorced English teacher who discovers a time portal to 1958, giving him the opportunity to prevent the assassination of John F. Kennedy. Knight is set to play a Texan salesman whose wife falls in love with Franco, leading to a tense and dangerous confrontation between the men. 

Hulu is yet to announce a release date for the series.

Knight, who has starred on Broadway in A life in the Theatre, Noises Off and Tartuffe among others, is also well known for his long-running role as Dr. George O'Malley in "Grey's Anatomy," for which he was Emmy-nominated, as well as for his performance in "The Good Wife."
