Tony Award-winning Bridge & Tunnel creator Sarah Jones will return to Los Angeles this September for a month-long run of Sell/Buy/Date, her acclaimed solo play based on the real-life experiences of people affected by the sex industry.
The play had its 2016 Off-Broadway world premiere at Manhattan Theatre Club, and made its West Coast debut in an extended run at the Geffen Playhouse earlier this year.
Jones takes on the complex subject of sex work in the 90-minute solo play, inhabiting more than a dozen multicultural characters, who share their honest, moving, and humorous experiences. Performances run September 27–November 4 at the 200-seat Renberg Theatre.
Sell/Buy/Date officially opens October 14.
Carolyn Cantor directs the L.A. return of the solo play, which is presented by the Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center, a program of the Los Angeles LGBT Center. Ticket sales will benefit the Center’s homeless LGBT youth programs.
