ABC7's Eyewitness News anchor Michelle Charlesworth and Tony winner Danny Burstein will co-host Broadway Backstage, a sneak peek into this spring's Broadway shows. The half-hour preview will air on the New York-local channel March 25 at 7 PM and be broadcast again March 26 at 5:30 AM.
Burstein will share what it's like starring as the lead of Pictures From Home, with Parade's Ben Platt, Camelot's Aaron Sorkin, The Thanksgiving Play's Scott Foley, New York, New York's Lin-Manuel Miranda, Summer, 1976's Laura Linney, and Grey House's Laurie Metcalf set to join.
The special will explore some Broadway history and rare memorabilia at Broadway's oldest gift shop as well as the remaining shows hitting the Main Stem. Rounding out the line-up are A Doll's House, Bad Cinderella, Sweeney Todd, Dancin', Shucked, Life of Pi, Peter Pan Goes Wrong, Fat Ham, Good Night, Oscar, and Prima Facie.
Also set to be spotlighted are Broadway Care's red donation buckets and the incredible work this theatrical nonprofit does with those donations.
