Based on the 1992 Castle Rock Entertainment film of the same name, Honeymoon in Vegas opened on Broadway Jan. 15 following previews that began Nov. 18, 2014. The musical had previously played an engagement at New Jersey's Paper Mill Playhouse in the fall of 201.
Honeymoon in Vegas played its final performance at Broadway's Nederlander Theater April 5. As of closing, it had played 66 previews and 93 regular performances for a total of 159 shows for a New York audience.
The musical was praised by critics, but failed to catch on at the box office. The production grossed $371,576.00 for the week ending March 29. Read reviews here.
Along with Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominee Danza, the cast was led by Tony nominee Rob McClure, Brynn O'Malley and with David Josefsberg, Tony Award nominee Nancy Opel and Matthew Saldivar. The Broadway premiere reunited all six principal actors who appeared in the world premiere at Paper Mill.

Honeymoon in Vegas has a book by "Blazing Saddles" and "Fletch" writer Andrew Bergman and a score by three-time Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown. The musical, according to press notes, "tells the story of Jack Singer (Rob McClure), a regular guy with an extreme fear of marriage, who finally gets up the nerve to ask his girlfriend Betsy (Brynn O'Malley) to marry him. But when they head to Las Vegas to get hitched, smooth talking gambler Tommy Korman (Tony Danza), looking for a second chance at love, falls head over heels for Betsy. What happens next is anybody's bet!"
