The Today Show’s Al Roker visited actor Taran Killam at Broadway’s Richard Rodgers Theatre before he bowed as King George in Hamilton. Killam succeeds Rory O’Malley (Book of Mormon) who will be launching the national tour of the show.

Roker stopped by Killam’s dressing room to take a backstage tour and watch Killam’s final rehearsal before his official debut.

“It’s overwhelming,” said Killam. “It’s such a significant show.” From shenanigans with the King’s cape to watching his wig-fitting, viewers watched as Killam joined the company. You can even catch a snippet of Killam’s rendition of “You’ll Be Back.”
