Tina Fey Can Sing! Tituss Burgess and His Unbreakable Creator Have Amazing Belt-Off | Playbill

News Tina Fey Can Sing! Tituss Burgess and His Unbreakable Creator Have Amazing Belt-Off The Broadway actor and queen of comedy collaborated for a hilarious and well-played performance.

At the annual MCC Theater Miscast Gala, MIscast regular Tituss Burgess poked fun that none of his “classmates” could really compete with his performances. After all, his voice just sits higher than the average male vocalist—the better to sing female leads with, my dear.

But one performer was up to the challenge. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt creator (and co-writer of the upcoming Mean Girls musical), Tina Fey, burst from the audience to sing a duet of “You’re Nothing Without Me” from City of Angels. The lyrics matched the writer-actor relationship hilariously well (You are some gumshoe/You just don't think well/Get this, dumb gumshoe/You come from my inkwell).

And it wouldn't be a performance from the comedians without some improv humor.

As Burgess sang: Go home and soak your dentures

Fey sharply retorted: I told you that in private.
