James' career on Broadway spans over 20 years, making his debut with Blood Brothers in 1993. He was first nominated for a Tony Award in 2002 for his featured role as Sidney in Sweet Smell of Success and again in 2009 for his title role in Shrek the Musical. His other Broadway credits include Next to Normal, Time Stands Still and Macbeth.
