The Queen of Versailles, the newest musical from Wicked songwriter Stephen Schwartz, officially opens at Broadway's St. James Theatre November 9 after beginning previews October 8. The work, which made its world premiere at Boston's Emerson Colonial last year, is adapted from Lauren Greenfield's 2012 documentary of the same name. Lindsey Ferrentino (The Fear of 13) has written the book.

Co-producing and starring in the new work is Schwartz' original Wicked star, Tony winner Kristin Chenoweth, playing the titular role of Jackie Siegel opposite Academy Award winner F. Murray Abraham as David Siegel. The work follows the couple's endeavor to build the largest private home in the country in Orlando, Florida, only for the 2008 recession to dampen their dreams and lavish lifestyle. Two-time Tony winner Michael Arden is at the helm.
