Broadway's The Outsiders, Patriots, Illinoise, An Enemy of the People, and The Who's Tommy will all hold special performances to benefit the Entertainment Community Fund. The initiative is part of the Fund's Producer's Picks benefit performance program, with proceeds from blocks of tickets going to support its various programs. Those proceeds are donated in full by each show's producers.
"Producer’s Picks performances offer a way for theatregoers to come together to enjoy a memorable night while giving back to those who bring the arts to life,” says Fund President and CEO Joe Benincasa in a statement. “We’re grateful to these shows—all of which have received Tony nominations—whose ticket donations make this program possible and to the audiences who join us for these meaningful performances.”
The Outsiders will kick off the program May 15 at 8 PM performance, followed by Patriots May 22 at 7 PM, Illinoise May 23 at 8 PM, An Enemy of the People May 29 at 8 PM, and The Who's Tommy July 11 at 7 PM.
The Entertainment Community Fund is a national human services organization that addresses the needs of people who work in performing arts and entertainment with services focused on health and wellness, career and life, and housing.
