Theatre collective and band The Lobbyists will reunite after a multi-year hiatus for a 10th anniversary concert performance of their rock-folk musical Seawife. The concert will be held at Bowery Electric on November 3.
The musical, co-written by The Lobbyists with Seth Moore and directed by Liz Carlson, tells the tale of a young sailor named Percy who learns the bloody trade of the whaler and experiences the haunting consequences of man’s greed. It originally premiered in a sold-out run at the South Street Seaport in 2015, receiving two Drama Desk nominations.
All original band members will perform live for the first time since 2020, including Tommy Crawford, Eloïse Eonnet, Alex Grubbs, Will Turner, Douglas Waterbury-Tieman, and Tony Aidan Vo. The concert will also feature Laura Dadap on cello, and Liz Carlson will return to direct.
