Tony nominee Dave Malloy, who wrote the music, lyrics, book, and orchestrations for Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, makes his Broadway performing debut in the show May 4, stepping into the role of Pierre—the part usually played by Tony nominee Josh Groban—for 10 performances across May and June.

Malloy, who originated the role of Pierre in the show’s initial Off-Broadway runs at Ars Nova and Kazino, is scheduled to perform the part May 4 at 7 PM, May 5 at 8 PM, May 6 at 2 PM and 8 PM, May 7 at 3 PM, May 9 at 7 PM, May 16 at 7 PM, June 13 at 7 PM, June 20 at 7 PM, and June 27 at 7 PM.

As previously reported, international singing star Groban, who is making his Broadway debut as Pierre, has extended his run with the show through July 2. The musical was recently nominated for 12 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, the most of any production of the season.
