Hours after the decision was announced (and Broadway erupted with joy and tears), the couple took to City Hall and enlisted New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio to officiate their ceremony.
Kirdahy tweeted the news following the ceremony, and a picture of the two made the front page of the New York Times.

McNally and Kirdahy, who collaborated on the recent Broadway production of The Visit, starring Chita Rivera, had a civil union ceremony in Vermont in 2003; they subsequently married in Washington, D.C., April 6, 2010.
