Molly Ringwald returns to the New York stage October 29 in the American debut of Terms of Endearment at 59E59 Theaters. She stars as Aurora Greenway in Dan Gordon’s stage adaptation, alongside Mozart in the Jungle star Hannah Dunne.
Michael Parva directs for The Directors Company; the cast also includes Jeb Brown, Denver Milord, John C. Vennema, and Jessica Digiovanni.
The play is based on the book by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Larry McMurtry and the Oscar-winning screenplay by James L. Brooks, tracing the love/hate relationship between a mother and her feisty daughter. “This funny and touching story about love captures the delicate, and sometimes fractured, bonds between mothers and daughters, husbands and wives, and lovers both old and new,“ read production notes from 59E59 Theaters.
Terms of Endearment is scheduled to run through December 11. The production is presented in association with Invictus Theater Company, Linda Gray, and The StoryLine Project.
The staging features set design by David L. Arsenault, costume design Michael McDonald, lighting design by Graham Kindred, sound design by Quentin Chiappetta, and wig design by Amanda Miller.
