Nominations have been announced for the Casting Society of America’s 2018 Artios Awards, which celebrate casting directors for film, TV, and theatre.
Theatre casting director Tara Rubin received a total of eight nominations, including nods for her work on four Broadway productions: Falsettos, Miss Saigon, Sunset Boulevard, and Heisenberg.
Bernard Telsey was also recognized for the talent he gathered for the Broadway stage, including the recent productions of Hello, Dolly! and War Paint. His six nominations also included work for the small screen: Hairspray Live!, This Is Us, and Julie’s Greenroom.
The bicoastal ceremony will take place January 18, 2018, at Stage 48 in New York City and the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. Three individuals will receive special honors: Oscar-winning director Barry Levinson (the Marion Dougherty New York Apple Award), CAA rep Kevin Huvane (the Lynn Stalmaster Award for Career Achievement), and casting director Victoria Thomas (Hoyt Bowers Award).
