Junie B. Jones, Jr. will begin performances Feb. 5 and run through Feb. 14. The original musical, performed by adults, was created by Marcy Heisler and Zina Goldrich. Adapted from Barbara Park's beloved children's books, the story follows Junie B.'s first day of first grade at school. "Junie's friend Lucille doesn't want to be her best pal anymore, and on the bus, Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. Also, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard and her teacher Mr. Scary thinks she may need glasses," state production notes. "Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament and a 'Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal,' and first grade has never been more exciting."
The show stars Aviva Winick (Grinch tour, Sound of Music tour) and features Julia Bavoso, Bobby Becht, Olivia Champeau, Acadia Colan, Donovan Colan, Madelyn Fedor, Johanna Keyser, Dexter Kennedy, Olivia Kider, Megan Kim, Abby Jeffries, Amelia LeRoy, Jack Nissen, Samantha Rascio, Jack Rodriquez-Vars, Tyler Sautner, Claire Waskow and Charlotte Wesson. Music direction is by Alex Ratner.
