Entitled Behind the Curtain: One Wicked Night with Stephen Schwartz and Valerie Smaldone, the one-night-only event will be held Nov. 1 at 8 PM. Smaldone, a midday host of 106.7 Lite-FM, will host the evening, which features a candid look at the acclaimed composer-lyricist.

In a statement Smaldone, who is also president of Two Sides of a Coin Productions, said, "What a thrill it will be to share a stage with Stephen and hear his great stories about creating music for both the Broadway stage and the silver screen. One of the most brilliant and prolific composer/lyricists of our time, Stephen is also a singer in his own right and will be performing his compositions along with some friends from the Great White Way. It promises to be a casual and fun evening as we spend time with one of the creators of the smash hit musical, Wicked!”

Stephen Schwartz, a Dramatists Guild council member, composed the scores for Wicked, Godspell, Pippin, The Magic Show, Rags, The Baker's Wife and Children of Eden. He has also written for several film musicals, including "Pocahontas," "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," "The Prince of Egypt" and the TV musical "Geppetto." His solo CDs of new songs are titled "Reluctant Pilgrim" and "Uncharted Territory." Schwartz is the recipient of three Academy Awards, three Grammy Awards and three Drama Desk Awards.
