What show recently impressed you?
I've seen some impressive theatre lately. Fiona Shaw completely blew me away in The Testament of Mary. I'm a huge fan of intense performances, where the actor completely gives themselves over to the work, and she was a beast in this. I also loved Matilda! I looked around and saw every person in the audience turn into a little kid for a couple hours, and that was pretty sweet. Fuerza Bruta was also a unique and spectacular journey.
What production are you most excited to see?
I was a huge fan of Big Fish the movie, so I'm excited to see what they do with this new musical. I have to say Forever Tango looks pretty sexy, so I might have to check that out — ha! I also want to see Mark Rylance playing Olivia in Twelfth Night and the title role in Richard III.
What play/musical would you most like to revive on Broadway, and which role would you want to play?
I would love to play King Arthur in Camelot! I was in a production at the Paper Mill Playhouse when I was 13, and it was kind of my introduction to the professional theatre world. I would love it if they brought it back. Secret Garden was always a childhood favorite of mine as well, and the role of Archibald would be a brilliant change from Frankie.
What are your current/upcoming projects?
The role of Frankie is pretty demanding, so it doesn't make it easy to get involved in other projects. Right now I'm working on a one-man show with plans to perform it in the near future. I'm also planning on getting in the recording studio to record an album. I've talked to my agent about the possibility of TV and film, and we are excited for that transition. It's an exciting time, and I'm extremely grateful for all of it.
