Dan Riley's Spinelli, winner of CA's Long Beach Playhouse's 1999 New Works Festival, will have its world premiere in the Studio Theatre on Sept. 1. The Festival is dedicated to developing new works by southern California playwrights and is now in its 15th year.
Riley's play takes a satirical look at God, who is accused by Adam and Eve of entrapment in the Garden of Good and Evil. Attorneys Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy do their best to present their case before Judge Barbara Jordan. The comedy will run through Oct. 7 and is directed by Daniel Leclair.
LBP also announced its upcming new season, which includes Ray Cooney's Run for Your Life, Alan Ayckbourn's Season's Greetings, George Furth's The Supporting Cast, Agatha Christie's A Murder Is Announced, Larry Shue's The Nerd, Noel Coward's Present Laughter, Frederick Knott's Wait Until Dark and Moss Hart's Light Up the Sky.
