Spamilton, the Off-Broadway parody of the Broadway smash Hamilton, will release its original cast album on March 3. Plans for the recording from DRG Records were first announced in December 2016.
The show was written by Gerard Alessandrini, creator of the long-running Forbidden Broadway series of revues spoofing Broadway and Off-Broadway shows.
Originally scheduled to run 18 performances, Spamilton has been repeatedly extended at the Triad nightclub in Manhattan, where it continues its run. A second company will begin performances at Chicago's Royal George Theatre on March 3.
The cast recording features original Spamilton cast members Dan Rosales, Nicholas Edwards, Juwan Crawley, Chris Anthony Giles, Nora Schell, along with special guest stars Christine Pedi and Glenn Bassett, and music director Fred Barton at the piano.
