Filling in for the run's first five performances (through October 18) will be Lisette Oropesa, a member of the Met's Lindemann Young Artist Development Program and a winner of the 2005 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. For the final seven performances, November 10 through December 1, Ekaterina Siurina will sing Susanna as previously scheduled.
Bayrakdarian is the second soprano to pull out of this Figaro. Last month Dorothea R‹schmann cancelled all of her engagements for the next three months, including her appearances as Countess Almaviva; replacing her is longtime Met stawart Hei-Kyung Hong.
