They're moving on up! Off-Broadway's Soho Rep and Playwrights Horizons have partnered on a new, space-sharing initiative, which brings Soho Rep up into the midtown theatre district after decades of dedicated downtown work.

Soho Rep, which has occupied a performance space at 46 Walker Street for more than 30 years, will take up temporary residence at Playwrights' Peter Jay Sharp Theater on 42nd Street for the next two to three years.

Soho Rep's final production in their downtown space will be the world premiere of Give Me Carmelita Tropicana!, a collaboration between downtown performance legend Alina Troyano (aka Carmelita Tropicana) and Branden Jacobs-Jenkins (Appropriate). The production will star Tropicana, and reunite Jacobs-Jenkins with OBIE-winning director Eric Ting.

Further details of Soho Rep’s 2024/2025 season will be announced in September. The season will end with a co-production between Soho Rep and Playwrights Horizons, which will begin performances in May.
