Shen Wei, one of the founding members of the Guangdong Modern Dance Company, founded his company in 2000. His recent works include Rite of Spring and Folding. He is also a painter, designer, and filmmaker.

Shen Wei Dance Arts Premieres New Work at Lincoln Center Festival
Choreographer Shen Wei presents the world premiere of a new seven-section dance at the Lincoln Center Festival tonight.
On the same program his company, Shen Wei Dance Arts, will also perform the New York premiere of Near the Terrace, Part I, with a score by Arvo P‹rt. The company is known for works that blend visual art and dance; Near the Terrace is a response to the painting of Belgian artist Paul Delvaux.
