Casting has been revealed for Geffen Playhouse's upcoming 20th anniversary revival of Tarell Alvin McCraney's The Brothers Size, set to begin performances August 14 ahead of an August 22 opening night. A co-production with NYC's The Shed, the production will continue through September 8 at the California theatre, with Bijan Sheibani directing.

The second of McCraney's Brother/Sister play trilogy, the work centers on two brothers living in the Deep South whose relationship is tested when one brother's former cellmate arrives for a visit. The play made its world premiere in 2007 at Off-Broadway's Public Theater, with a simultaneous European premiere following just days later at London's Young Vic. Sheibani is returning to the work after directing the Young Vic production and a 2018 revival at the same company.

Dates for an Off-Broadway run at The Shed have not yet been announced.

The production will feature scenic design by Suzu Sakai, costume design by 2024 Tony winner Dede Ayite, lighting design by Adam Honoré, sound design and music by Stan Mathabane, choreography by Juel D. Lane, and dramaturgy by Lindsay A. Jenkins. Casting is by Phyllis Schuringa.

McCraney is the artistic director of the Geffen Playhouse.
