Zizi Strallen and Renée Lamb in Cake: The Marie Antoinette Playlist Mark Senior

Cake: The Marie Antoinette Playlist is coming back to London for a limited engagement at London's The Other Palace this fall. The musical, which previously enjoyed a 2023 U.K. tour and five performances in the West End last September, is set to play The Other Palace September 13–November 10.

Directed by Bronagh Lagan and based on the original staging by Drew McOnie, the production will star the previously announced Zizi Strallen (Mary Poppins, Strictly Ballroom) as Marie Antoinette and Renée Lamb (Be More Chill; Six) as Jeanne, both of whom as reprising their roles.

They will be supported by new courtier Millie O’Connell as Nicole, and returning company member Travis Ross as the Cardinal. The company will be completed by Lila Eccles, Tarik Frimpong, Sunny Lee, Zara MacIntosh, Emma Robotham-Hunt, and Manu Sarswat in the ensemble.

Cake: The Marie Antoinette Playlist, featuring a book by Morgan Lloyd Malcolm and Tasha Taylor Johnson and music and lyrics by Jack McManus and Taylor Johnson, retells a story that sparked a revolution. Marie Antoinette’s reign was blighted by gossip and scandal. But when she is implicated in a crime to defraud the crown jewelers of a diamond necklace, it is not just her reputation at stake, but the monarchy and France itself.

The production also has choreography by Christopher Tendai, set and costume design by Sami Fendall, lighting design by Joshie Harriette, and casting by Will Burton.

Cake was originally commissioned by Paul Taylor-Mills. Bill Kenwright Ltd and Taylor-Mills produce.
