Songbook Sundays, created and hosted by Deborah Grace Winer, will celebrate the work of jazz pianist and composer Duke Ellington later this month at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Dizzy’s Club.
Entitled Nothin' But Duke Ellington, the August 18 concerts will be presented at 5 PM and 7:30 PM at the Manhattan venue.
The performances will feature the talents of Broadway siblings Aisha de Haas and Darius de Haas plus Anaïs Reno. The performers will be backed by music director Richard Cummings on piano with Damon DueWhite on drums, Kenny Davis on bass, and Ed Jackson on alto saxophone and flute.
Attendees can expect to hear such Ellington classics as "Sophisticated Lady," "I'm Beginning to See the Light," "I Got It Bad and That Ain't Good," and "Come Sunday."
