More casting has been revealed for the upcoming Off-Broadway world premiere of Liana Sonenclar's Before This New Year, set to begin performances at The Duke on 42nd Street at NEW 42 Studios March 19 ahead of an April 4 opening night. The limited run is scheduled to continue through May 11.
Joining the previously announced Emily Carey as Haley and Kaci Walfall as Alison will be Arjun Biju (An Adaptation of That King of the Hill Episode Where Peggy Falls Out of a Plane) as Brandon, Pete Simpson (Gatz) as Coach, Melanie Nicholls-King (The Wire) as Mom, and Ella Stiller (Rose of St. Therese) as Jen. Casting is by Anne Davison and John Ort.
Directed by Obie winner Knud Adams (English), the play follows Alison Bennett, a high school track star who's forced to confront some old feelings and life-changing decisions when she reconnects with former teammate Haley while home for the holidays after her first semester of college.
The production will feature scenic design by Afsoon Pajoufar (The Band’s Visit), costume design by Avery Reed (On Set with Theda Bara), lighting design by Reza Behjat (What Became of Us), and sound design by Peter Mills Weiss. Jakob W. Plummer is serving as production stage manager.
Jonathan Demar is producing the work, with Mott/Fischer Productions serving as general manager.
