Theatre district mainstay Sardi's has a new face on the wall: three-time Tony winner Tim Rice.
The legendary lyricist got his very own Sardi's portrait November 15, two days after The Lion King (which features lyrics by Rice) celebrated its historic 25th anniversary on Broadway. Among those in attendance for the unveiling were cast members from The Lion King and its co-book writer Roger Allers, and Beauty and the Beast's original Broadway Mrs. Potts, Beth Fowler.

Rice is a Tony winner for his score and book to Evita and the score of Aida. He also contributed lyrics to Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Chess, Beauty and the Beast, King David, and Aladdin.
