Bright Colors and Bold Patterns, described by one critic as a “sidesplitting rant on gay marriage,” will play the Barrow Street Theatre September 16-18 only.
Written and performed by Droege, the new solo play details the events leading up to Josh and Brennan’s wedding in Palm Springs. “The night before becomes a drunken, drug-fueled scream riot, because their friend Gerry has arrived, furious that their invitation says ‘Please refrain from wearing bright colors or bold patterns,’” read production notes. “In the struggle for equality, what do we really want? What do we lose? And is there any cocaine left?” The show is produced by Form Theatricals.
