Second Stage Theater has announced that Lisa Lawer Post will take over as interim executive director beginning February 27. She will succeed current Executive Director Khady Kamara, who will depart the company at the end of the month.

Post previously served as project director, executive vice president, and eventually chief operating officer over a 25-year span at The New 42nd Street, the parent company of The New Victory Theater, New 42nd Street Studios, and Duke on 42nd Street. Before her time at The New 42nd Street, Lawer Post worked for Condé Nast Publications as Director of Corporate Communications.

Lawer Post's experience with theatre administration dates back to her time as executive director of the Joyce Theater, where she played a key role in developing the theatre’s 46-week dance season, education program, new work development program, and American Theater Exchange project.

“As a long-time Second Stage fan and subscriber, I am honored to be joining the company as interim executive director, helping to sustain and support the amazing work of Founder & President Carole Rothman, and the talented Second Stage staff and board,” Lawer Post remarks.
