Like many of Broadway's rock musical stars, Daphne Rubin-Vega moonlights as a singer-songwriter when she's not strutting the stage as Magenta in The Rocky Horror Show or Mimi in Rent. Those anxious to hear what she does with her self-penned rock 'n' roll can at the Cutting Room July 9 and 16. Rubin-Vega made her Broadway debut (and netted a Tony nomination) as the AIDS-infected dancer Mimi, then landed movie roles in "Wild Things" and "Flawless." She released a self-titled CD, from which she'll sing selections at the Cutting Room, and took an Off-Broadway role in Gum before returning uptown for Rocky Horror.
Tickets are $10. The Cutting Room is located at 19 W. 24th St.
