Tony-winning dancer and choreographer Savion Glover will join the cast of the Broadway musical Shuffle Along Or The Making of the Musical Sensation of 1921 and All That Followed July 26, the same day Rhiannon Giddens joins the cast as a substitute for co-star Audra McDonald, who is leaving the show to have a baby.
The internationally recognized tap master has a 2016 Tony Award nomination as choreographer of the show. It was previously announced that Glover would join the cast at a date to be announced.
It was not specified what role Glover will play in the musical, but he gave what may be a preview of his work in the show when he danced with the ensemble on NBC's new variety show May 31.
