In 1978, Radio City Music Hall was set to close. Rosemary Novellino-Mearns was a member of the Ballet Company and dance captain at Radio City at the time. At the time of the closing announcement, Novellino-Mearns assembled and led the committee to save Radio City and won.

Novellino-Mearns published her account of the tumultuous time in the New York arts scene in Saving Radio City Music Hall: A Dancer’s True Story. The account details how Radio City went from a site marked for demolition to a National Historic Landmark.

On October 6, Novellino-Mearns will tell her story live at the Episcopal Actors Guild in New York City.
