News Sara Bareilles Discusses Intimate New Book Tonight at BAM's Unbound Series Grammy nominee Sara Bareilles, whose musical theatre debut Waitress will arrive on Broadway later this season, kicks off her book tour Oct. 6 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music's Unbound, a book launch series featuring talks and performances.

Bareilles is appearing in a talk with Ben Folds about her book "Sounds Like Me: My Life (so far) in Song," a compilation of essays that share the intimate stories behind some of her top hits.

In addition to her book, Bareilles has also announced her fifth studio recording, "What's Inside: Songs from Waitress," which features tunes from the forthcoming Broadway musical, as sung by the composer. The album is due Nov. 6, but Bareilles released a single from the album, "She Used to Be Mine," Sept. 25. "I fell more deeply in love with the writing of the musical Waitress than I had ever imagined,” Bareilles said in a statement about the new album. "It proved impossible for me to imagine handing over the songs to the show before selfishly finding a way to sing them myself."

Waitress is scheduled to begin Broadway previews in March 2016 prior to an official opening night in April at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. "Exposed and raw," read about how writing Waitress moved Bareilles to tears
