Goldberg, who took over from Sheila Hancock, who created the role in the show's London premiere, is with the show through Aug. 31. Dexter will join the company Sept. 2, with Verity Quade, Goldberg's alternate, playing the role on Sept. 1.
Dexter has previously appeared in musicals in the West End playing Nancy in Oliver! (London Palladium), Mrs. Wilkinson in Billy Elliot (Victoria Palace) and starring in Bad Girls – the Musical (Garrick Theatre). She is also known for her straight acting work, which includes seasons with the RSC and National, at the latter of which she appeared in the original production of Patrick Marber's Closer. TV credits include "A Touch of Frost," "Dalziel and Pascoe", "Family" and "Night and Day."
