Ryan Spahn's backstage comedy-thriller Inspired By True Events has joined the licensing catalogue of Concord Theatricals and will be published via its Samuel French imprint.

Set in a community theatre green room in Rochester, New York, the work follows a group of actors getting ready to play to a full house the night after opening to rave reviews. When their star actor arrives in a dangerously unhinged state, they must improvise on and off stage in ways they could not have imagined. The work made its world premiere Off-Broadway in 2024 via Out of the Box Theatrics, who staged it in the theatre's green room for an intimate audience of 40 people per performance.

"I’m deeply grateful to Concord Theatricals for publishing Inspired By True Events,” says Spahn in a statement. “I’ve always loved horror, and dreamed of writing something that could make audiences scream. Thank you to Knud Adams, Liz Flemming, and the incredible original cast. The play’s publication is an exciting moment for us."
