Roundabout Announces Performance Dates for Joshua Harmon World Premiere | Playbill

News Roundabout Announces Performance Dates for Joshua Harmon World Premiere Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that the world premiere of Significant Other, a new comedy from acclaimed Bad Jews playwright Joshua Harmon, will begin performances Off-Broadway May 21 with an official opening night of June 18.

The limited engagement of Harmon's new play, about a gay bachelor looking for love in the city, will be directed by Trip Cullman (Punk Rock, Murder Ballad) and will run through Aug. 16 at the Laura Pels Theatre.

According to Roundabout, Significant Other is a hilarious and heart-wrenching coming-of-age story about single life in the city: "Jordan Berman would love to be in love, but that's easier said than done. So until he meets Mr. Right, he wards off lonely nights with his trio of close-knit girlfriends. But as singles' nights turn into bachelorette parties, Jordan finds that supporting the ones you love can be just as impossible as finding love itself."

The full cast and design team for Significant Other will be announced shortly.

Harmon's Bad Jews was the third most-produced work around the country this season. It premiered at Roundabout's Underground Black Box theatre in 2012 in a sold-out extended run and transferred the following year to the Laura Pels Theatre. His work has also been produced and developed by Manhattan Theatre Club, Hangar Theatre, Williamstown Theatre Festival and Ars Nova, among others. He is currently in development with Roundabout for a new, commissioned play.

Tickets are now on sale by visiting roundabouttheatre.org or by calling (212) 719-1300. The Laura Pels Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre is located at 111 West 46th St., New York.
