Romeo and Juliet Musical Re-Imagined at Barbecue Contest | Playbill

News Romeo and Juliet Musical Re-Imagined at Barbecue Contest Northern Sky Theater in Door County, WI, has announced that its 2015 season will feature a unique musical re-imagining of the Shakespeare classic, Romeo and Juliet. The loosely based adaptation is titled No Bones About It and is aptly set at the Verona National Ribfest.

The world premiere of No Bones About It will kick off the theatre's 2015 summer season, with music by Paul Libman and book and lyrics by Dave Hudson, whose tongue-in-cheek adaptations include Muskie Love (Much Ado About Nothing) and Bing! (The Cherry Orchard). It is billed as a story about "char-crossed lovers," set in the competitive barbecue world. Northern Sky's season will also feature the world premiere of the musical When Butter Churns to Gold, a mid-1800s-set comedic melodrama about a Wisconsin farm girl who attempts to save the family farm. The show features music by Ron Barnett, book by Peter Welkin and lyrics by Randi Wolfe.

The third show of the summer slate will be Strings Attached with book and lyrics by Hudson and music and lyrics by Colin Welford. It is billed as a laugh-out-loud tale of tangled twins.
