Another season of made-for-TV Christmas movies are upon us, and that can only mean one thing: Broadway favorites re-discovering the magic of the season.
The film, set to be directed by fellow Broadway alum Melissa Joan Hart, tells the story of Emily Strauss (Kinney) who gets sent to Santa Bootcamp to find the perfect Santa. Moreno stars as the bootcamp's drill sergeant with a heart of gold, with Justin Gaston, Deanne Bray, and Zyra Singleton rounding out the cast.
Hart, who worked on Broadway as a child in a 1991 revival of The Crucible before becoming a household fixture as the star of TV's Clarissa Explains It All and Sabrina the Teenage Witch, is executive producing alongside Irene Dreayer, Gina Rugolo Judd, and Paula Hart. Hartbreak Films Inc. is producing, and Michael J. Murray penned the screenplay.
A premiere date for the film has not yet been announced, but it is expected to debut this holiday season.
