The production was first seen at Chichester Festival Theatre in summer 2014 before transferring to the Savoy Theatre. The company at the Savoy features Sophie Thompson and Jamie Parker, both reprising their Chichester roles as Miss Adelaide and Sky Masterson, respectively, joined by David Haig as Nathan Detroit, Siubhan Harrison as Sarah Brown and Gavin Spokes as Nicely Nicely Johnson.
Harrison and Spokes will continue in their roles, newly joined by Samantha Spiro as Miss Adelaide, Richard Kind as Nathan Detroit and Oliver Tompsett as Sky Masterson.
Spiro won Olivier Awards for Hello, Dolly! (Open Air Theatre, Regent's Park) and Merrily We Roll Along (Donmar Warehouse). Recent West End credits include A Christmas Carol and Di and Viv and Rose.
Kind's Broadway credits include The Big Knife, The Producers and The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife. Film credits include "Argo," "Inside Out" and "A Bug's Life."
Tompsett's West End credits include We Will Rock You (Dominion Theatre), Drew Boley in the original London cast of Rock of Ages (Shaftesbury Theatre) and Fiyero in Wicked (Apollo Victoria Theatre). He can be heard on the current release "Cynthia Erivo and Oliver Tompsett Sing Scott Alan." The production is directed by Gordon Greenberg, with choreography by Carlos Acosta and Andrew Wright. It is designed by Peter McKintosh, with lighting by Tim Mitchell and sound by Paul Groothuis. Musical supervision, musical direction and dance arrangements are by Gareth Valentine with Larry Blank as orchestrator.
