News Richard Chamberlain Scrooge Musical Tour Kicks Off in Chicago Oct. 26 The upcoming staging of Scrooge starring Richard Chamberlain will launch its national tour from the Ford Center for the Performing Arts' Oriental Theatre in Chicago, Oct. 26 before heading out across the country.

Bill Kenwright produces the American premiere of the holiday musical directed by Bob Tomson (Blood Brothers) which played previously in London. With Scrooge, Leslie Bricusse (Victor/Victoria) offers his take on the classic Charles Dickens story. The production features 19 musical numbers including "Father Christmas," "December the Twenty-Fifth," "I Like Life" and "Thank You Very Much."

The production will feature choreography by Lisa Kent and design by the Olivier-Award nominated designer Paul Farnsworth — from his design from the London production.

Chamberlain last starred on Broadway in the revival of The Sound of Music and the national tour. Other stage credits include Breakfast at Tiffany's, The Night of the Iguana, Blithe Spirit, My Fair Lady. The actor is also known for his turns on television in "The Thorn Birds," "The Count of Monte Cristo," "Shogun," and "Dr. Kildare."

  • Nov. 23-28 - Palace Theatre - Louisville, KY
  • Nov. 30-Dec. 5 - Oakdale Theatre - Wallingford, CT
  • Dec. 7-12 - Masonic Temple Theatre - Detroit, MI
  • Dec. 14-19 - Hippodrome Theatre - Baltimore, MD
