Reviews are coming in for the Off-Broadway production of The Wanderers, which officially opened Febuary 16 at Roundabout Theatre Company's Laura Pels Theatre. Previews began January 26, and the play, led by television and film name Katie Holmes, has been extended through April 2.
The Anna Ziegler play follows newlyweds Esther and Schmuli, who are Orthodox Jews, and Abe, a Secular Jew and famous novelist who believes he can write his own future. But when Abe receives an unexpected email from movie star Julia Cheever, his marriage is put to the test.
Holmes makes her Roundabout debut as Julia Cheever, joined in the cast by Sarah Cooper as Sophie, Lucy Freyer as Esther, Dave Klasko as Schmuli, and Eddie Kaye Thomas as Abe. Barry Edelstein directs.
