Keen Company's Off-Broadway revival of two-time Pulitzer winner Lynn Nottage's Crumbs From the Table of Joy officially opened at Theatre Row's Theatre Five March 7, and the reviews are in. Directed by Colette Robert, the production began performances February 21 and will continue through April 1.
The cast includes Shanel Bailey (The Book of Mormon), Jason Bowen (The Play That Goes Wrong), Sharina Martin (The Piano Lesson), Natalia Payne (Fairview), and Malika Samuel (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child).
The work follows 17-year-old Ernestine Crump as her family relocates from Pensacola to Brooklyn after the death of her mother. Keen's production is the work's first in New York City since its 1995 premiere at Second Stage, which served as Nottage's professional debut.
