The reviews are in! Written by Donja R. Love and directed by Whitney White, soft opened June 9 at the Susan & Ronald Frankel Theater at The Robert W. Wilson MCC Theater Space, following previews which began May 12. The show is set to play through June 26.
The work was developed at Williamstown Theatre Festival and follows a correctional boarding school teacher, Mr. Isaiah, and his response to one of his students dying by suicide.

During the show's limited run, the theatre will host Black and Brown Theater Night June 17. Featured in the cast is Leon Addison Brown as Mr. Cartwright, Biko Eisen-Martin as Mr. Isaiah, Dharon E. Jones as Antoine, Essence Lotus as Dee, Travis Raeburn as Bashir, Shakur Tolliver as Kevin, Dario Vazquez as Jamal, and Ed Ventura as Eddie.
The show suffered through COVID-19 related delays during its first week of production. Soft played one preview performance May 12 before announcing cancellations which lasted through May 28. As a result, the show's run was extended from its original closing date June 19.
The play features scenic design by Adam Rigg, costume design by Qween Jean, lighting design by Cha See, sound design by Germán Martínez, original music by Mauricio Escamilla, and fight direction by UnkleDave’s Fight-House. The props supervisor is Andrew Diaz and the production stage manager is Rachel Denise April.
