2024 Pulitzer Prize finalist Here There Are Blueberries opened May 13 and the reviews have been released.
The play, a co-production between Tectonic Theater Project and New York Theatre Workshop, is directed by the play's conceiver and co-writer Moisés Kaufman. The show has just been extended to June 16.
Here There Are Blueberries explores the true story of when an album of never-before-seen World War II-era photographs lands on the desk of United States Holocaust Memorial Museum archivist Rebecca Erbelding. She takes an interest in the photos, which shows Nazi officers at Auschwitz, but strangely does not show the camp inmates. The play explores the ramifications of the discovery, including on the lives of the descendants of those Nazi officers, and Holocaust survivors.
