The U.K. just got a bit more cheeky. Edinburgh Fringe favorite drag and cabaret performer Reuben Kaye has brought his autobiographical solo show The Butch is Back on the road for a near month-long residency at London's Southbank Centre December 7-30.
A native Australian, Kaye's cabaret/comedy performance toes the line between autobiographical standup and full-throated vocals. The Butch is Back, which is equal parts introspective and explosive, explores his origins as a young, queer boy in Melbourne as he processes his fraught relationship with his father.
The London engagement is the final stop of his U.K. tour, with previous stops at Cambridge, Manchester, Brighton, Leeds, Bristol, and Sheffiel.
Additionally, Kaye brought the show to a selection of other European cities, including Antwerp, Oslo, Amsterdam, Stockholm, and Helsinki.
