The Ma-Yi Theater Company presents the work that is directed by Loy Arcenas (Golden Child, Stop Kiss). Rescue Me will run through April 18. Julian Barnett is choreographer. Playwright Barall, who appeared in Oresteia for Classic Stage Company and Hotel Cassiopeia at BAM, makes her playwriting debut with Rescue Me.

Obie-winning actor and playwright Greenspan (Coraline, The Royal Family, Myopia) and Ikeda (Top Girls, Seascape) are joined by Barnett, Leon Ingulsrud, Ryan King, Paco Tolson, Oni Monifa Renee Brown and Katherine Partington.

Rescue Me, according to press notes, "finds Euripides' heroine Iphigenia — here known as Iph — at age 34, stuck in a dead-end job. Haunted by the past, her present situation offers little consolation: she's at the mercy of both a temperamental goddess and a barbarian king with a fondness for human sacrifice. Beginning to lose all hope of rescue, hers is a contemporary story about loss, redemption, and the struggle for individual agency."
